RNs in the telemetry unit provide patient care by comfortably connecting them to machines that measure heart rate, breathing rate, blood-oxygen levels, and electrocardiogram information. They also carry out more traditional nursing duties of a med-surge nurse such as administering medications and communicating with patients regarding their condition.
